Wow, it's been a while since my last update, I've become a total blog slacker!
A couple of weeks ago we took a trip to Laguna Beach. It was a rainy Saturday morning, but we decided to go anyway since there was a good chance that the weather would clear up. We had a great time just strolling along the beach and having lunch at a local restaurant. Here are some photos from the day.
Kristie & CJ's Wedding (10/2/10)
Last week we headed back to Pittsburgh for my sister's wedding on Saturday, 10/2/10. We had a great visit and were happy to get to spend some time with our family and friends. The only downsides...the trip was too short and I forgot to charge my camera battery before we left and didn't think to pack the charger either. Therefore, I didn't get a chance to take that many pictures :(
Here are a couple of shots that I was able to take.
None of the next pictures were taken by me. They are photos that have been uploaded to Facebook I am not sure who all of the photos belong to but if they are yours and you'd like credit, please let me know!

It's football season...
When we made the decision to move to California, David decided that he wanted to get football season tickets for one of the local teams. There is no football team here at Caltech so our options were USC or UCLA. After weighing the options, he decided to go with UCLA and since they play their home games right here in Pasadena at the Rose Bowl, it's pretty convenient for us.
Saturday was the home opener against Stanford. Unfortunately, the game didn't go so well for Bruins fans--UCLA lost 35-0! Hopefully next week will have a better outcome.
I didn't bring my camera to the game, these photos were taken with my iPhone.
A view from our seats in the Alumni section...not sure how that happened as neither of us are UCLA Alumni

Welcome to Hollywood!
Yesterday, we spent part of our day off by heading to Hollywood and Highland, home of many famous sites including the Kodak Theatre (home of the Oscars), Grauman's Chinese Theater, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in addition to many other sites.
After checking out some of these sites, we went into full tourist mode and decided to go on a Movie Star Home's tour.
First "celebrity" home on the tour...this one is for you Tom so I hope you're reading...Lauren Conrad. This is the house that she lived in while filming The Hills (unfortunately, she no longer lives here, but don't worry Tom, I am working on finding her new place :)

This residence in the Hollywood Hills is home to Bob Barker.
Next stop....Beverly Hills 90210!
Can you guess who lives in this house?
It's Simon Cowell's Beverly Hills home. Apparently, he purchased the property from Jennifer Lopez but wasn't satisfied with the existing house so he had it demolished and built this house in it's place.
This next house is the current residence of Dr. Phil. However, it looks like Dr. Phil does not plan on living here much longer because the house is currently listed on the market for $16.5 million.
The house below is the former residence of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. This is the house that they lived in during their run on The Osbournes on MTV. It is currently the residence of Christina Aguilera.
The next house is currently on the market for $29 million. It is the home where Michael Jackson was living when he passed away last year.
The tour showcased several other homes, including those of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Lindsay Lohan, Larry King, Orlando Bloom, Matthew Perry, and Charlize Theron as well as the former homes of Nicholas Cage, Jennifer Lopez and Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. Unfortunately, we couldn't always get close enough for a good photo or sometimes, all you could see were the tops of the homes (I guess I'll have to grab a star map and head out to find these (and other) places again on my own in an attempt to get better photos!). This was exactly the case when the most expensive piece of real estate currently for sale was pointed out to us. The home is currently on the market for $150 million. That's right $150 MILLION!! It is 56,500 sq ft and features 14 bedrooms and are you ready for this...27 bathrooms! Can you guess who calls this place home? Since I wasn't able to get any photos, you'll have to check out the listing information to find out!
Finally, here are some shots of Los Angeles from a lookout on Mullholland Drive.

I started this blog as a place for me to post photos that I have taken to track my progress at becoming a better "photographer" and to give my friends and family a glimpse of our life here in sunny California!
