My birthday is approaching (it's this coming Thursday) so this weekend, David and I decided to celebrate a little early. We started off the weekend by going to the Cyndi Lauper concert at the Greek Theatre. It was a fun night and the show was great. Here are a couple of photos from the concert.
Then on Saturday morning, I came home from running some errands and found this special gift from David waiting for me...
And on Sunday, we had a great lunch at Frida's Mexican Cuisine and a delicious birthday cupcake from Crumbs.
Perhaps the only thing that could have made the weekend better---tickets to the Emmy's. Maybe next year?
Disneyland!
Today, David and I made our first trip to Disneyland! We even got these cute little buttons to mark the occasion.
I am sure that this will be the first of many trips to Disney since we decided to take advantage of their offer for Southern California residents and become annual pass holders. Not to mention, there is so much more to be seen (we didn't even make it to California Adventure today). Here are a couple more photos from today!

Dots Deliciousness...
David and I went to Old Town Pasadena tonight, and no trip to Old Town would be complete without a trip to Dots Cupcakes. Dots is quickly becoming one of my favorite places here in Pasadena. Take a look at these photos and you'll probably see why--it's such a cute little shop and the cupcakes are DELICIOUS :)
Love is Everywhere...
Earlier this week, David told me that he found something outside that I should take a photo of, so I grabbed my camera and followed him to see what it was.
I was surprised to see this heart-shaped stone in the courtyard right outside our apartment. I hadn't ever noticed it before and haven't been able to find it again since!

I'll Make Sure You Miss Me...
This past weekend my husband was headed off to Las Vegas for a weekend trip with my sister's fiance. On Friday, he left work early to run errands before he leaving town. When I got home from work I was surprised to see that he had bought me roses! You're probably thinking, how sweet. Now, my husband is not one to surprise me with flowers for no reason, so I suspiciously asked 'what are these for.' His response, "So that you'll see them and miss me while I am gone." That's right, my husband used flowers as an insurance policy to try to make sure that I missed him while he was away.
Here are a couple of my favorite photos of the flowers...

Jezebelle & Barney
I decided that the first photos that I'd share with you are ones of my two favorite little "people," Jezebelle and Barney. These were taken yesterday during our lunch-time walk. I am positive that you will be seeing a lot of photos of these cuties!
Welcome!
A few months ago I decided that I absolutely had to have a new fancy schmancy camera. At the time, I was working on an occasional basis for a coworker just to make some extra spending money for myself so I decided to use that extra cash and got myself a Canon DSLR camera. The only problem, I had no clue how to use the darn thing. That was okay though, I figured that I would take a class and learn to use all of the different manual features.
During that time however, things became a little hectic and I never got to take that class. My husband was applying and interviewing for new positions so I didn't want to enroll in a class if there was a chance that we'd be moving soon. Sure enough, we did move--to California!!
We've been here in CA for almost two months and now that things have settled down, I figured that it's time I start putting this camera (and the additional lens and the fancy camera bag that I have since had to have) to good use. So basically the purpose of this blog is to track my progress at taking better photos and also to give you all a glimpse into our lives here in California!
Keep in mind, I still haven't taken that class--hopefully someday I will get around to it!
